If you’re anything like me and my fiancé, your date nights usually consist of trying new restaurants, going to concerts, hiking, watching the sunset at the beach, or going on weekend getaways to explore places you haven’t been before. We’ve been going a little stir crazy over here, so I came up with 10 quarantine date night ideas for when you’re stuck inside and can’t go out for date night like you usually would! It’s been so fun to think outside the box and come up with new ideas to make quarantine date nights fun. Let me know if you try any of these!
Grab all the comfy blankets you own, make some popcorn, & build a fort for movie night! This one is my personal fav. My fiancé, Sam, and I sometimes drag our mattress into the living room for movie nights since we don’t have a TV in our bedroom, and for some reason it just feels extra special to be snuggled up on our bed while we’re in the living room! We’ve been watching some old classics, like the Harry Potter movies and binging shows on Netflix, like Tiger King (we’re low key so disturbed, but also can’t look away!)
Grab a bunch of different wines from Trader Joe’s and do your own wine tasting! Pour a few glasses, put a sticky note with the name of each on the bottom, mix them up , and then try to guess which one is the most expensive! If you’re feelin’ realllll fancy, make a charcuterie board to go with the wine. Who needs to go to a winery when you can do your own wine tasting in your PJ’s??
Order a couple of canvases and pick a photo from Pinterest to re-create. Get creative together! Make it a competition — whoever’s painting is the best gets out of doing dishes for the next week!
Start your own couples book club! Make a list of a few books, and hold your own book club meetings every week — just the two of you, or invite some friends to join in via FaceTime. I don’t know about you, but I have SO many books I’ve been meaning to read, and just haven’t had the time. Now, time is pretty much ALL we have!
Make a bucket-list of the places you want to travel together when this is all over, and then go on YouTube and watch some travel vlogs of the places you picked! Just search something like “Paris Travel Vlog” and a bunch should come up for any location! Daydreaming of all the things we’ll do and places we’ll go is a fun way to pass the time and stay positive.
Order your favorite takeout or cook a meal you love, get dressed up in some cute clothes (no sweatpants allowed!) and have a meal with NO distractions. Turn off the phones & TV, and put on a romantic playlist instead. Here’s mine if you don’t have one you love! Do a little slow dancing in the kitchen after the meal, and you’ll feel like you two are living out a Rom Com.
Have a backyard picnic if the weather is nice! Make yourselves a nice charcuterie board, grab some White Claws, or your drink of choice – and just pretend you’re having a picnic somewhere cooler than your backyard.
Take a virtual fitness class together! Sam and I have been doing yoga, and it’s been a fun challenge – and it’s a great way to stay active and keep our bodies moving when our activity levels are a lot lower than normal!
Break out the board games, or play a drinking game together. Sam and I have been re-living our college days by playing beer pong (lol) and it’s honestly been so fun! You could also FaceTime some friends and play virtual Cards Against Humanity.
Love it or hate it, let’s be honest – Tik Tok is freaking addicting. It’s way too easy to get sucked in to the trap of watching videos on there for hours – but instead of mindlessly scrolling, try learning a few dances! Honestly they’re harder than they look – try these. At the very least, you can laugh at how dumb you look trying – or maybe you’ll kill it and be the next TikTok star!
I hope these indoor quarantine-inspired date night ideas are helpful & fun! Leave a comment if you tried any!! Hope you’re all staying healthy, safe, and happy.
xo, Anna
My husband and I are planning to celebrate our anniversary by having dinner, but since going outside is unsafe, we’re thinking of ordering gourmet food from a lavish restaurant. Well, you’re also right that it would be a perfect idea to grab various types of wines that we may use for our little game. Thank you for also sharing here that this could be the perfect timing to list down out bucket lists.
